Redefine Safe Space in Rehabilitation for Traumatic Youths amidst Urban Growth

This thesis focuses on redefining safe space for traumatic youths. A sanctuary for recuperating which integrates an open community-based rehabilitative centre for the traumatic community that diminishes the indoor and outdoor boundaries of an isolated medical model to an integrated social model through reparative approaches for engaging communities. A safe space that is more human driven which allows the traumatic community to break their daily routine through integrating breathing spaces that consist of natural elements which enriches the wellbeing at the same time re-integrate these segregated traumatic communities back to the society. The rehabilitative centre is an escape from the chaos and extreme dense proximity of people in the city of Kuala Lumpur and aims to offer a place for rehabilitation, a place for healing and a place for social cohesion for those suffering from traumas to de-stigmatise medical health centres for post traumatic disorder among the society.
